The Harford Waste-to-Energy Facility began operations in 1988 and ceased operations in March of 2016. This facility processed approximately 115,000 tons of County waste annually and captured steam from the processing of the waste and sold it to the Edgewood Area of the US Army’s Aberdeen Proving Ground.
